PGDIE

1. POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING (PGDIE) 40TH BATCH (2010-2012)

This two year programme develops Industrial Engineers as Technology Management experts for both manufacturing and service sectors. The programme covers subjects such as Supply Chain Management, Six Sigma, Operations Management, Project Management, Logistics, BPR, ERP and Software Engineering.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION

GATE qualified 1st Class Engineering/ Technology graduates in any branch. GATE Qualifiers get Teaching Assistantship @ Rs. 8000/- per month and contingency expenditure as per rules. Admission is based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview with appropriate weightage to GATE percentile. Final Year Engineering / Technology candidates can also apply, provided they secure the qualifying degree with First Class before June 17, 2010. SC/ST candidates are granted financial assistance as per the scheme of Govt, of India vide letters No. 11016/19/2005-SCD-l dated 21.6.2007 & No. 19012/36/05 - Education dated 27.6.2007 subject to the satisfactory fulfillment of terms and conditions mentioned therein. Reservation for OBC candidates belonging to Non-Creamy Layer is being implemented in the phased manner. Selection of Industry Sponsored Candidates with First Class Degree in Engineering /Technology (with a minimum of 2 years industry experience) is through Personal Interview only. GATE score is not required for Sponsored candidates. No teaching assistantship is granted to ISP candidates. Only short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at NITIE Mumbai.

2. Fellow (Doctoral) Programme (FP)

Areas : Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Economics, Operations Research, IT applications, Ergonomics, Safety and Environmental Management. The programme aims to admit, in the above areas of specialization, the individuals with sound academic background, strong motivation and potential to become excellent researchers at national and international level. Applicants are evaluated on their past academic achievements, motivation and preparation for the programme, seminar presentation on the area of his/her research interest and Personal Interview.

ELIGIBILITY & SELECTION :

Masters Degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology, Management, Economics, Commerce, Social Science, Medical Sciences, Life Sciences and Pure Sciences with First Class. Prospective candidates can look into the detailed areas of research given in the Institute website or brochure. Those appearing for their final examination in the respective disciplines can also apply. Project/ Work experience in these areas would be preferred. Selection is based on the presentation on a tentative research proposal followed by Personal Interview.

Candidates from Industry / Academia with above eligibility and minimum of two years experience may also apply. Such candidates, if are selected, have to stay in the campus for six months for credit requirements. No financial assistance is available for such candidates. They need to produce sponsorship certificate from the employer.

Financial Assistance is provided only for Direct candidates for four years and is extendable to 5th year as per the guidelines from MHRD, Govt, of India. Scores of GATE / CAT/ GMAT/ GRE / NITIE Test will be required for financial support. NITIE Test will be on 10th May 2010 at NITIE Mumbai.

Interested candidates can apply to NITIE through ONLINE mode. Candidates can fill the application form ONLINE. For details and instructions please visit NITIE's offical website www.nitie.edu Application fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- in case of SC/ST/PD candidates) and applicable bank charges can be paid in the form of challan (downloadable from NITIE website) in any branch of State Bank of India. Hard copy of the filled-in Online Application duly signed by the candidate should be sent to the address given below along with Institute's copy of the challan and copies of the relevant certificates as mentioned in the Instructions. Reservation and 5% relaxation on 1 st Class % marks are applicable to SC/ST/PD candidates as per Govt, of India rules for both the programmes. i Fulfilment of minimum qualifications is not an automatic claim to be called for Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
