NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY AND NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION (II)

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2010 on 22nd August, 2010 for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA for 126,h Course and Naval Academy for 88"' Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 30,h June, 2011.

Salient features of the examination are published herein for general information of candidates. For details regarding the Syllabus and Scheme of the examination, Centers of examination, Guidelines for filling up application form etc. aspirants must consult the Detailed Notice of the examination published in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar dated 20,h March, 2010.

2.    CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

(a)    Age Limits, Sex and Marital Status:

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd July, 1992 and not later than 1SI January, 1995 are

eligible.

(b)    Educational Qualifications:

(i) For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: - 12th Class pass of 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

(ii)  For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for 10+2 (Executive Branch) Course of Naval Academy:- 12,h Class pass of thel 0+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in 12"' Class under 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this Examination.

(c)   Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2010 as given in Appendix-V of Commission's Notice for the Examination published in Employment news/Rozgar Samachar dated 20,h March, 2010.

3.    HOW TO APPLY:

(a)  Candidates who wish to apply off-line must apply in the Common Application Form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix-Ill of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs.207- (Rupees twenty only). Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

In case of any difficulty in obtaining Application Forms from the designated HPOs/POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned Post Master or UPSC's "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL" over Telephone No.011 - 23389366/Fax No.011 - 23387310.

(b)  Candidates can also apply Online using the link http://www.upsconline.nic.in Detailed instructions for filling up on line applications are available on the above-mentioned website.

4.    FEE:

a)   Candidates applying Offline (through Common Application Form) are required to pay a fee of Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.

b)   Candidates applying Online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty-five) only either by remitting the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card.

c)   SC/ST candidates are exempted from payment of Fee. (OBC candidates are required to pay full fee).

5.    ADDRESS AND LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS :

a)    Through Common Application Form

All offline applications must reach the "Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi -110069" either by hand or by Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 19,h April, 2010.

However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote localities specified in the Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only {not by Hand or by Courier) is 26lh April, 2010.

b)    Through Online

The Online Applications can be filled upto 12,h April, 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link will be disabled.

6.    FACILITATION COUNTER & WEBSITE FOR GUIDANCE OF CANDIDATES :

In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near gate 'C'of its campus in person or over Telephone No.011-23385271/.011-23381125/ 011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs. and 17.00 hrs.

The Commission also has Website at address: http://www.upsc.gov.in over which the candidates can obtain details of the examination as well as information about registration of their applications, venue of the examination and results etc. Mobile Phones are banned in the Campus of UPSC Examination Halls.
