ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT: 2010-11

Applications are invited from the interested candidates for admission to the following two-year full time Post Graduate Programmes offered by the Central University of Orissa for the Academic Session 2010-2011.

School of Languages                     (i) English (ii) Oriya

School of Social Sciences:           (i) Sociology (ii) Anthropology (iii) Journalism & Mass Communication

Mode of Selection:

The selection of candidates will only be made through All India Entrance Examination in 12 examination centres throughout India.

Examination Centres:

(i) Ahmedabad (ii) Bangalore (iii) Berhampur (Orissa) (iv) Bhubaneswar (v) Delhi (vi) Guwahati (vii) Kolkata (viii) Koraput (ix) Nagpur (x) Raipur (xi) Rourkela and (xii) Visakhapatnam

(The University reserves the right to change/cancel any centre of examination without assigning any reason.) Eligibility: Bachelor degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% or equivalent grades.

General Information:

Foreign Nationals: All foreign nationals present in India may appear in the Entrance Examination subject to their fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements. However, in the event of their selection, they will be considered for admission subject to equivalence of their degrees as per eligibility requirements.

Reservation of Seats: 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer). 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively in all programmes of study. 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates (with a minimum of 40% disability). All SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed and/or are appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks.

How to Apply:

Application form and prospectus can be obtained either (i) through post by sending Bank Draft drawn on any nationalized bank for Rs.300/- in favour of CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF ORISSA payable at Bhubaneswar along with a self addressed (unstamped) envelope of minimum size 30 cms x 25 cms indicating the Category for which the application form is required. The request for application form and prospectus by Post may be sent to the OSD (Admn.), Central University of Orissa, Camp Office at Type-C, Block-4, New Government Colony, Gajpati Nagar, Bhubaneswar-751017 (Orissa). (ii) The application form and prospectus can also be obtained by cash payment of Rs. 300/- at Counters of the University in its Camp Office at Bhubaneswar and also in its Campus at COATS Complex, Sabar Srikhetra, Koraput-764020. The filled in application form along with required supporting documents should be addressed to the O.S.D. (Administration), Central University of Orissa, Camp Office at Type-C, Block-4, New Government Colony, Gajpati Nagar, Bhubaneswar-751017 (Orissa).

  • Last Date of receipt of filled in application forms :   April 19, 2010
  • Date of Examination                                      : 22n0 and 2310 May 2010

NOTE:

(i)              Candidates who are due to appear in respective qualifying examination prescribed for eligibility for admission to a particular programme are also eligible to appear in the entrance examination. In the event of their selection, they will be admitted only if their results of the qualifying examination are declared before 31" July, 2010.

(ii)              While the University, on its part, shall ensure timely dispatch of Application Forms soon after receipt of the requests from intending candidates, it will however, not accept any responsibility for any postal delay for irregularity or loss in postal transit.
