CATE Application Forms
BUYING THE FORM
- Make a demand draft from any SBI branch in favour of The Registrar, University of Delhi payable at SBI Branch, University of Delhi.
- Please keep a photocopy of the draft with you or note down the draft number for your records.
YOU WILL NEED TO MENTION THE DRAFT NUMBER IN YOUR FORM.
- Write the name, address and contact number of the candidate behind the demand draft.
- Submit the demand draft at the counter to buy the CATE form from any of the seventeen participating colleges.
FILLING THE FORM
- Read all the instructions on pages 3 and 4 of the CATE Information Bulletin carefully and then fill the form.
- Use only black ball point pen for filling the form. You may use HB pencil for filling the circles only.
DO NOT
- Do not fold the form.
- Do not separate the three parts of the OMR Application Form.
- If separated do not use staples, pins etc.
- Do not staple the photograph. Only paste it on the form.
- Do not sign on the photograph or get it attested.
SUBMITTING THE FORM
- You can submit the form at any of the seventeen participating colleges.
- Submit with original folds ONLY in the pre- addressed envelope. No other envelope will be acceptable.
- Do not submit any documents with the form.
- Do not seal the envelope.
You can buy the forms at the designated centres (information about the centres will be available in the CATE booklet to be made available later) listed at the bottom of this page.
You will need to make a payment in the form of a bank draft drawn in favour of the State Bank of India, and made payable to the Registrar, University of Delhi. (Kindly write your name, address and contact number behind the Demand draft before submitting it).
Students need to get a demand draft from the State Bank of India in favour of ‘Registrar, Delhi University’ to procure the form. It is a one-time payment, they don’t need to give any fee at the time of submission of the form.
If you are applying ONLY for B.A. English (Hons) in the participating CATE colleges, you need NOT submit a separate University OMR form.
Admission form does not require any signature or a photograph of the candidate. Documents are not required with the form. Original certificates and marksheets will be required later at the time of admission after your CATE exam results are out and you are called for admission process.
CATE forms are separate from the Common Admission forms. Common Pre-Admission Form is not applicable where admission is through entrance test.
Application forms for the CATE will be made available at the office of the Department of English, Arts Faculty Building, University of Delhi (North Campus). Each candidate for the test will be required to submit at the same office, along with the completed application form, two passport-size photographs, a copy of his/her Class XII mark-sheet and a sum of Rs.100/- as demamd draft in favour of The Registrar, University of Delhi, test fee. Registration for the test will be done at each of the venues set up for the distribution of forms.
Upon registration, each candidate will be given a counterfoil of the application form which will serve as his/her receipt-cum- test admit card as well as mention his/her roll number for the test and test venue.
A candidate needs to submit only one CATE application form to register for the test even though he/she may be applying to more than one college for B.A.(Honours) English.
- Complete and submit:
- College Admission Form (attached in the prospectus)
- University Enrolment Form (available at the time of admission).
- Three copies of passport size photographs, one of them attested
- Provisional Certificate of the last examination passed (Class XII)(in original)
- Attested copy of marks sheet (Class X and Class XII).
- Attested copy of certificate of date of birth (Class X certificate)
- Character certificate issued by the Head of Institution last attended (original).
- Attested copy of Migration Certificate in case the student is from a Board/University other than Delhi.
- Copy of certificate from Head of school stating that the candidate has passed in Hindi upto Class VIII, in case exemption is sought for compulsory Hindi.
- Caste Certificate, in the name of the applicant/candidate, if she belongs to a Scheduled Caste/Schedule Tribe/OBC/Physically Handicapped etc.
- Submit Originals of all attested copies of certificates submitted along with the application.
