CATE Eligibility Criteria

The criteria for appearing in the test will be:

  • A minimum of 60 marks in English (Functional, Core, Elective, etc) in the school-leaving (Class XII) examination. AND
  • A minimum of 60% aggregate in the best 4 subjects (including English).

Your best 4 subjects may include:

  • Marks in English + any 3 academic subjects (including languages) OR Marks in English + any 2 academic subjects (including languages) + 1 vocational subject

NO rounding off is allowed in the aggregate. For example 59. 6% aggregate cannot be rounded off to 60%.

SC/ST/PH/Foreign students are exempt from taking *CATE* and will be admitted as per the prevailing rules of the University.

Relaxation for Armed Forces personnel will be as per university rules. Such students will have to appear for the CATE.

OBC students will be given up to a maximum relaxation of 10 on the *CATE*score, as determined by the respective colleges, at the time of admission only.
